Enterprise Tester 4.4 was released yesterday and we hope that you enjoy this great release on LDAP enhancements and user management. The LDAP synchronization feature that we introduced is one that has been requested by many of our customers and we are please to be able to include this feature and many other enhancements that you’ve requested.

Although I’ve already blogged about LDAP and the new project features in this release, I thought I would tell you a little bit more about some of the features and enhancements that you’ve requested that we have also included.

To support the new LDAP features, we have enhanced the user and group management screens to make it easy to manage a large number of users.

We have removed the individual users and groups listed in the Admin navigator. This will reduce the loading time of the navigator when managing a large user base.  Now when you double click on user or group folder, the user or group listings are full screen and we have added a user search tool which has the added feature of filtering on first name, last name and user name.

On the edit project screen we have replaced the user and group picker with a user/group selector with auto-filtering functionality. You’ll also noticed that we have replaced this field in an number of other areas too including the advanced search screens and on the reports criteria tab. A large number of customers have requested improvements to this field and we hope that this will improve the whole experience around managing users and user selection.

Some additional changes on the Admin tab include the display of all options under Configuration, so you no longer need to right click on the folder to select from the options.

You’ll also find some enhancements to custom field screens and field displays.  We added page scrolling on the Order Custom Fields Screen to support our customer with a lot of custom fields (we won’t mention any names… yet) and have widened the width of the field picker when managing picklist values.

Support for GIT for version control,Windows Sever 2012, SQL Server 2012 and Internet Explorer 10 have also been introduced in this release.

What’s next? We are already fully underway with Enterprise Tester 4.5 and all I can say is that it will hit the spot with all of our customer already syncing user stories/requirements with JIRA or those that are thinking about it!
